Moving on~

Hello Jeju,

I've moved back to the USA. I hope people can still enjoy the photos and stories from my time in Jeju. Although I'm no longer living in Korea, feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions and I will try to get back to you.

Take it easy~

The Last and the First

2013-09-02 Karima Walker's Last Concert in Jeju 31

I got to see the first couple of songs of Karima Walker's Jeju Farewell concert.  Jeju has an amazing way of bringing out the individual talent in some people.  Karima has some of the most natural musical talent, charisma and stage presence that I've ever seen in Jeju.  She put together a band for a one-time final farewell concert before she leaves the island to move on to bigger and better things.  Good luck!

Peregrine Falcon

2013-07-24 영주산 Youngjusan 99

I saw a couple of Peregrine Falcons (매 'mae' in Korean) flying around Youngjusan (영주산) the other day. They were awesome.  It seemed like they were hunting, but sometimes fighting. My birder friend, Matt, told me that we're lucky in Jeju in that they're the only place in Korea where they are relatively widespread.  He also said they're the fastest animal in the world (in a dive).

I've always read about these birds, but I've yet to see one.  A lot of rock climbing cliffs in the US are closed due to Peregrine Falcon nesting, so it was a treat to see them close up.
